Lift users expect lift doors to be fitted with non contact type door re-opening devices. They also expect to be able to communicate from within the lift in the event of an emergency.

At Titan we can provide and fit the latest multi beam detector edges with visual displays to warn users when the doors are starting to close. We can also fit communication systems inside lift cars that are connected to the building’s telecom system.

The system that we prefer can be reprogrammed remotely to prevent expensive site visits to alter client telephone numbers. All telephone numbers are stored within our database so that we can identify the location of the lift from our caller display and despatch an engineer to site with the minimum delay. This is a major benefit where lift users may not have English as their first language.

Building owners and occupiers have a duty of care under Heath and Safety Legislation to provide a safe place of work.

Lift machine rooms and lift shafts have numerous hazards for persons that have to work or pass through these areas. The hazards can be eliminated or significantly reduced by the provision of suitable guarding and other control measures.

Site hazards are usually highlighted by the competent person during their six monthly statutory examinations and by lift engineers when they carry out their Site Safety and Risk Assessments.
