DDA Works
The Disabled Discrimination Act (DDA) requires building owners and occupiers not
to discriminate against people in the provision of services and accommodation. Service
providers also have to make “reasonable adjustments” to their premises to overcome
barriers to access.
BS 5665 Part 6 2002 – Annex H provides information on the design and fixtures of
lifts. Among the many areas that need to be considered are the size of the lift
car; the width of the car entrance; the height of the push buttons; indicators and
emergency communication.
Our Repair Department are able to offer the most cost effective solutions to bring
your lift up to current standard.
Please contact us if you are concerned about how DDA affects your lifts.
