LEIA (Lift and Escalator Industry Association) recently ran a children’s safety campaign series called ‘Liam Loves’, which strongly highlights the dangers to parents and children when using lifts by distributing two books ‘Liam Love Lifts’ and more recently, for the same purpose, ‘Liam Loves Escalators’.
The main objective of ‘Liam Loves Lifts’ and ‘Liam Loves Escalators’ is to engage and educate families in the UK. Targeting children under the age of five, this book is a great help in assisting children’s safety on escalators and in lifts, along with the surrounding areas. ‘Liam Loves’ can also be aimed at teachers of under-fives, helping them to learn about the importance of safety early on and in the simplest form.
Both entertaining and educational, the ‘Liam Loves’ children’s books are proving to be a huge success with those parents who have received copies. Not only because of its colourful and engaging layout, but also because it raises awareness for the issues of child safety when it comes to escalators, and helps to prevent future incidents.
